Artist’s Notes

This clip has my camera work and character animation, though I did more previs camera work throughout the project, along with Adam Floeck and Alessandro Ceglia. In addition to camera work, we modeled temporary sets and props while real assets were being built.

“Stronger” is one of many episodes of the Netflix series “We The People”. Read more about the project made in collaboration with the Obamas on Buck’s website.

I animated the car and camera for this Toyota spot as well as modeled temp environments. It was created in a wide format to suit the screens at LA LIVE.

I animated all of the camera work for these two Taco Bell spots, but only finished animation on a few of them which I have indicated on my shot breakdown above.

The main challenge with the camera work was to seamlessly blend the camera move from one scene to the main menu scene.

I animated the characters and camera in Maya so that the 2D team could use it as reference for roto and paint.

I modeled the entire set based on beautiful concept work and matched it to a tee. Unfortunately I was not able to see this project through to completion due to changing jobs, but I am proud of the work that I was able to finish.

While I did not have enough time to develop a toon-shader with the necessary black line work associated with the show, I was able to set the tone of the colored pencil texture that all of the backgrounds use for Hey Arnold. I even made sure to sneak in a few Buckeye leaves and Ohio shapes here and there.

Promotional Lighting

It seems appropriate to incorporate some examples of my lighting work on this page because it pairs well with the other CG Generalist skills involved with previs.

During my time at Nickelodeon I worked with the Consumer Products division to create promotional renders for publication in books, toy boxes, clothing… If you have been through the toy isles in the last ten years, you have probably seen some of these works in stores.

All of the examples below were created with pre-made lighting kits from the actual show, using either Arnold, V-ray, or Mental ray.
